About us

On historically industrial soil at Vivstavarv in Timrå we create rum as Swedish as it can ever be made. Here at Vivsta Destilleri we create rum from the ground up, a very uncommon practice in sweden, we distill from organic molasses made from cane sugar and fresh water from Indalsälven.

About our rum

Our rum is fermented from organic molasses from tropical parts of the world and by using some of the freshest water that you can find in Sweden. The source of our water comes from Indalsälven and is so clean that it is not necessary to add chemicals to it to make it good for consumption.

After the molasses have finished their fermentation it is distilled in our column still of 500 liters (pictured above). The raw rum (white rum) is later stored on different barrels for aging. Today we use both bourbon barrels and sherry barrels of 20 and 30 liters.

Afterwards we let the spirits rest for 2-3 years on these barrels before botelling.
